"MyDock is an ideal solution for us to manage software for our workstations.
As an advertising and web design agency, we use a variety of packages, such as Office and Adobe desktop publishing and graphics; for accounting, web development and programming; as well as numerous small programs (for special effects, FTP, etc.). We also use a few custom applications, such as a time registration system.
In the past, it was always confusing when a new workspace had to be installed, or an old one changed, or when anyone needed additional software. In addition to that, there was a proliferation of software, with all their attendant risks.
With MyDock, we have a fully equipped environment—a kind of "shop" containing our own software and software packages. An employee can review any software packages (or upgrades) that he wants himself. The management authorizes his "purchase," and when that happens, there is an automatic signal to the system administrator, who then schedules and handles the installation. A workspace can be easily equipped according to the wishes of the user, while complying with our software licensing agreements."
